On Wednesday, October 19, the Minister Secretary General of the Government of Chile, Camila Vallejo, received the president of the Worldwide Association of Women Journalist and Writers (AMMPE), Elia Simeone.

Also present at the meeting were Graciela Ibáñez, vice president, and Eliana Jiménez, secretary of the Chilean organizing committee for the next World Congress of Women Journalists and Writers to be held in Punta Arenas, (Chilean Patagonia), in 2024.

At La Moneda Palace, seat of the Presidency of the Republic of Chile, the president of AMMPE informed the Minister about the last World Congress held in Rome, between September 14 and 17, where the election of the new president, head of chronicle of the newspaper “La Prensa Austral” of Punta Arenas.

Simeone extended an invitation for Chilean President Gabriel Boric to attend together with Minister Vallejo at the opening of the meeting in the southern tip of Chile, stressing that his government has declared itself feminist and ecological, in total harmony with the principles and objectives of AMMPE
